All our babies are raised inside. We have 2 Golden Retrievers, of which the girl, Josie, has been known to 'mother' the kittens when she has snuck inside. I have 4 daughters, aged from 21 to 11, so they are used to kids handling them. They also get taught some basic house manners - no getting on tables, climbing the curtains or scratching the lounge! Though I must admit when they're charging round the house like mad things, its sometimes a little hard to keep up with what they're up to!
Are Ragdolls suited to outside life? The answer is a firm no! - supervised visits or on a harness only - they are gentle souls who think everyone is their friend, they will come off second best if involved in a fight, they can be stolen, run over, taken by foxes........the list is endless - for their sake you must keep them inside - or have an enclosure built so they can explore the great outdoors safely.
Kittens leave home between 12 and14 weeks of age. They will be vaccinated, microchipped and desexed, and flea treated. I can provide pedigrees. All kittens come with a kitten starter pack which could include - a litter tray, litter sample, toys, bowls, dry food sample and anything else I can find.
Unless for breeding all kittens will be desexed no exceptions. Some people will argue that this isn't fair, that to make a good pet a girl should have a litter first etc. But the reality is that there are too many unwanted pets. By desexing before they leave home, I know that the buck stops with me, and that I'm being a responsible breeder and not contributing to the growing numbers at animal welfare organisations, which are simply bursting at the seams with unwanted, abandoned and dumped kittens.
Don't think that this doesn't happen, I currently have 1 of my mums, raising 4 kittens found abandoned in a Bunnings Store in Sydney on the 18th of January. They were 1 day old, or less, and were to be put to sleep that afternoon. The surviving 4 girls (we lost one) are all black and white, almost all identical, and we refer to them as the minstrels - after the black and white minstrels of the 60's/70's - they are a noisey bunch, but growing and becoming very loving - and looking for someone to take them home.
A deposit is required if you wish to reserve a kitten. Please ring or email for details.
NEW ARRIVALS!
Hubby has said no new babies till I rehome the final 4!, Oops I better getting cracking as I think Miley might be cooked and he spied her in the boy run today..............
Well with this final 4, 3 are sisters, born the 26th of Febuary 2010. They are a little older and so price has been reduced accordingly. They are slightly older as a couple of kittens got muddled, so I to DNA test to confirm who was who, and with all that happened this year it just didn't happen. But it is done, they have been desexed, chipped and vaccinated and are rearing to go to their furever homes I am open to offers on the below prices.
There is only 1 boy in the bunch, born 17th April 2010, a very cheeky, playful and loving little boy who is fearless.
Stay tuned - we will put up photos when they are a little older and have been assessed for breeding potenial.
Enjoy the pictures,
Liz
